Elephant has recently completed two projects for the Transportation Department’s infrastructure project; both are for Tseung Kwan O – Lam Tin Tunnel. The first is the installation of the public address system in the tunnel, kiosks, Administration, East and West Ventilation Buildings, spanning a distance of over 2.2 km and 3 buildings; the second is a 2 x 2-panel video wall that enables the traffic control centre to view feeds from all CCTV cameras along the tunnel.

After the Tseung Kwan O-Lam Tin Tunnel’s official opening on 11 December, 2022, the 2.2 km Tseung Kwan O Tunnel is no longer the only road tunnel that leads out of Tseung Kwan O. At the same time, the original Tseung Kwan O Tunnel’s capacity is now freed up for vehicles on the roads from Hang Hau, Tseung Kwan O North, Clear Water Bay and Sai Kung. With the Lam Tin Tunnel, it now only takes five minutes to arrive at the Eastern Harbour Crossing from Tseung Kwan O city centre, Lohas Park and Tseung Kwan O Innovation Park, which is ten minutes less than the previous route. The journey too, is reduced from 7 km to about 4.2 km.
