Queen Mary Hospital isa major acute district general hospital, and the flagship teaching hospital of the Faculty of Dentistry and Li KaShing Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong. It is under the Hong Kong West Cluster of the Hospital Authority, and provides over 1,700 beds, as well as 24-hour accident and emergency services. Named for Queen Mary, widow of King George V, the hospital opened in 1937 and greatly expanded over the years.
